Kenyans snubbed the opportunity to head Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC)? The board says there were no “adequate number of qualified Kenyans to proceed to the next stage:.
The KPC board has been forced to re-advertise the managing director job with implication that the successor to Mr Joe Sang may be not be known this year.
KPC did not say what minimum number of applicants it was expected and why the second advertisement may not run a similar fate of attracting less numbers of qualified persons.
Could KPC be headed for head-hunting or seek an expatriate should the second call for applications flop again?
In an advertisement in print media, KPC board said “In order to enhance KPC’s institutional capacity to deliver its strategy, on 19th July 2019 the KPC board of directors invited suitably qualified candidates to apply for the post of MD. The closing date was August 2, 2019.
“On scrutiny of the applications, the board did not find an adequate number of qualified applicants to proceed to the next stage of interviews. This is to therefore to notify all qualified candidates that the board wishes to re-advertise the position of MD at KPC. All those who had applied earlier need to re-apply.
KPC want anyone with a bachelors and masters degree from a recognized university. They will also be looking for experience of 15 years, 10 of which must be at the executive level.
