The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results are out with master Andy Michael Munyiri from Damacrest Academy, Thogoto as top student with 440 marks.
Releasing the results on Monday afternoon at the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) offices, Education Secretary Prof George Magoha said 9,770 candidates scored over 400 marks.
He observed that all pupils had passed their examinations and that they will all progress to secondary schools – in line with what is called “100 per cent transition”.
No cases of cheating was reported. Accordingly, all pupils will receive their results for the examinations cleared 18 days ago.
A total of 1,088,986 candidates sat for KCPE exams.
Prof Magoha said that government has set aside Sh8 million to improve schools infrastructure in 110 sub-counties, in 30 counties.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO Dr Nancy Macharia says 56 teachers are under probe for mishandling KCPE examinations.
